Regular dental hygiene visits lead to great oral health

Keeping your mouth, teeth and gums in top condition can help you to avoid the unforeseen expense of dental problems. We can help you achieve a healthy smile and avoid issues by offering regular dental hygiene visits to Ruislip Dental Care. Our expert oral hygienists will assist you in maintaining an effective individual hygiene routine.

During your appointment we will comprehensively clean, scale and polish your teeth. We will also guide you with oral health tips as bacteria builds up in the mouth constantly. If left untreated it can lead to gum disease (gingivitis) and cavities. However, a regular oral health regime will help you prevent the build up of plaque and ensure your mouth remains healthy.

Tips for maintaining dental hygiene

For healthy teeth and gums, it is important to regularly carry out the following:

Tooth brushing

Always brush your teeth gently. Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle and brush using short strokes for at least two minutes. Make sure you brush all of the front and back surfaces of your teeth.

Interdental brushes

Interdental brushes can help you remove excess food and plaque from between your teeth. Your dental hygienist will be able to demonstrate how to twist and bend these brushes to clean hard to reach areas.

Dental floss

Dental floss removes food and plaque from between your teeth, leaving your teeth clean and healthy. Our dental hygienists will be happy to offer help and advice on how to use dental floss for optimum cleaning results.

If you need to clean between braces, bridges or larger gaps in your teeth, your dental hygienist may recommend Superfloss. Each strand of this pre-cut dental floss has a stiffened end to help you thread it between your teeth, as well as two types of floss to clean different areas in your mouth. Please feel free to ask our dental hygienists how to use Superfloss.
